Dr Vivian Crispen Simmons is a Healthcare Practitioner, specialising as a General Surgeon in Bloemfontein. He was born and bred in the Northern Cape and went to Douglas High School.
His qualifications include: M.B.Ch.B in 2001 & MMed (SURG) in 2011 at the University of the Free State (UFS). Dr Simmons lived in Kimberley and was the Senior Medical Officer at Kimberley Hospital from January 2004 'til October 2006. Dr Simmons envisioned himself as a Specialist Surgeon and relocated to Bloemfontein in 2007 where he completed his studies in 2011 with a special interest in Gastroenterology. He had a further 2 years training in Gastroenterology until 2013 where he was the Head of the Hepatic Biliary and Gastroenterology Department at Universitas Hospital.
Dr Simmons started his Private Practice in 2015 and performed not only Gastroenterological procedures, but also General, Endocrine and Vascular surgeries. He is currently performing an outreach program in Upington, where he consults patients, performs theatre procedures as well as Gastroscopies and Colonoscopies.
Dr Simmons’ core competencies are Gastroenterology and Trauma.
